Millie and Hugh - Coln St Aldwyns Church - Marquee
Back in February Cheltenham wedding photographers Jane and Oli visited Coln St Aldwyns to meet up with Millie and Hugh whose wedding we were photographing later in June. We strolled around St John the Baptist Church and grounds establishing where the sun would be at 3pm in June and formulating a plan as to how we could work with close on 200 family and friends so that the day ran smoothly and guests weren't waiting around. From the church we followed the country path guests would take to the marquee. "And this is where the marquee will be" explained Millie pointing out over a lake complete with swans!
Fortunately by the time June arrived a dry spell had allowed the lake to transform into a luscious meadow complete with bunting, hay bales, balloons and the most amazing Bedouin marquee (from LPM Bohemia Tents, Northleach) with a central dance floor.
It really was the most amazing site to greet the newlyweds when they arrived in a sporty Austin Healey convertible.
Guests enjoyed chilled drinks and amazing canapes whilst catching up with friends and family, before a big group photograph of everyone was the signal for guests to take their seats in the marquee.
Entertaining and heartfelt Speeches preceded the wedding breakfast which was deliciously prepared by 'A Taste of Excellence'.
Festivities continued late into the warm summer night whilst cocktails were served and a tide of guests filled the dancefloor.
